Believe it or not, we get a lot of non-music or vinyl-related questions. It’s not that we don’t like answering them — we do it all the time. We’d rather just answer some of the most common ones here on the website so we can talk to you in person about the important stuff, like music.

Where is Eclipse Records Located?

Eclipse Records is a new and used record store in Saint Paul located Downtown at 419 Wabasha St N., between 6th Street and 7th Street/Fort Road. Right around the corner from the legendary palace theatre.


What Are Your Store Hours?

Eclipse Records is open 6 days a week with occasional closures for holidays. We do our best to keep our hours up-to-date online. When in doubt, give us a call. 

Sunday: Closed

Monday – Thursday: 11–5ish

Friday & Saturday: 11–7ish


Do You Ship Records?

Yes. We ship records. Don’t want to carry your records around for the rest of the day? No problem. Eclipse Records ships products domestically ONLY.


Do You Buy Used Records?

Yes, we buy used records and record collections in store and, for the right collection, will come to you and check it out on-site. This is rare, and in most instances we do this for large collections or high-quality collections that are difficult to transport. If you have high-quality used records or rare records you want to sell, send us a message detailing them (titles, condition, quantities) and we’ll reach out to you if we’re buying. 

As you can see in our bins, we are VERY picky about the used records we buy and carry. We’re not a museum or a pawn shop, so if you’re looking to dump a stack for a quick buck, keep moving.


Do You Offer Trades?

Generally, no. We’ve always said, “We sell, you buy. You sell, we buy.” Keeps it simple. But if the trade is really special, then maybe…


Do You Sell CDs or DVDs?

Eclipse Records does NOT sell CDs. In fact, we were one of the first music shops in the Twin Cities to ditch CDs and go vinyl-only. We do have a small selection of music DVDs (as well as music books, music magazines, and other odds and ends), but we are almost exclusively a vinyl record store.


Do You Sell Gift Cards or Gift Certificates?

Eclipse Records does sell gift cards. You can buy an Eclipse Records Gift Certificate (good for life) at the counter.


What Is Your Return Policy?

We will exchange new, unopened, undamaged records within 7 days (keep your receipt). Used records (including open new records) are yours forever, we don’t want to see them again. No refunds. No whining about it. Just be cool.


Can You Hold Items?

No. Eclipse Records will not hold records or other items for you or anyone else (except for Chris RT, but that’s a long story). We will, however, ship records you buy in store to anywhere in the U.S. You can hold records yourself all you want while you’re in the store.


Can I Listen Before I Buy?

You can listen to used records (unsealed) before you buy at our listening station. Or, if Joe is feeling particularly generous, everyone in the store can listen with you over the store sound system. Unfortunately, this is not the case for new records.
