Eclipse Records has been an independent Saint Paul staple for music lovers, vinyl collectors, and musicians since we first opened as a CD/Used Records/All-Ages Music Venue on Grand Avenue in 1999. Like our earliest customers, we’ve gotten older and wiser, moved around a bit, ditched our CDs, and settled down in a place we’re happy to call home: Downtown Saint Paul.
Today, Eclipse has become the place where people who make music buy their music. We’ve created a uniquely Saint Paul record store that we’d want to shop in ourselves: not too cramped or spread-out, not overwhelming or too sparse, no specialty genre or one thing that makes it great. Just a cool little place to spend some time discovering (not digging for) new records, high-quality used records, 45s, vinyl boxed sets, collectible records, special editions, and limited releases.
You can find Eclipse Records on Wabasha St, in the heart of Downtown Saint Paul’s Entertainment District — just around the corner from the Palace Theater and a few blocks from the Fitzgerald Theater, The Ordway, Amsterdam Bar & Hall, and the Xcel Energy Center. It’s not uncommon to catch a performer browsing records (or signing one of their LPs for the Eclipse Autograph Wall) after soundcheck or before a show.
